What is the GHG Quota?
To counteract the constant CO2 emissions in the transportation sector, the GHG quota was created as an additional incentive to switch to climate-friendly propulsion systems. Those who bring CO2-emitting fuels into circulation—such as the oil industry—must pay for it. And those who have already switched to CO2-reducing alternatives benefit. For this reason, since 2022, eMobility users have been able to sell their resulting CO2 savings in the form of the GHG quota to oil companies. reev makes it easy for you to take advantage of this additional income potential with no effort.

reev GHG Quota for Electric Vehicles (reev Dashboard Compact and Pro)
The amount of energy consumed in non-public charging sessions cannot be quantified, which is why the legislator assumes an average annual consumption of 2,000 kWh per fully electric vehicle (BEV). This corresponds to an overachievement of the GHG quota by 862 kg CO2 per electric vehicle, resulting in a payout of a flat amount per electric vehicle (BEV). The proceeds may be subject to price fluctuations in the GHG quota market and can be claimed only once per year for each electric vehicle.
- Current proceeds: €80 or more* per electric vehicle (BEV)
- Requirements:
- You (as a company or individual) must be listed as the owner on the vehicle registration certificate (Part 1).
- The GHG quota mechanism is a German instrument, so the application is only allowed in Germany.
- The law states that the GHG quota can only be claimed for fully electric vehicles (BEVs) and only once per year.
- You can check the status of your GHG quota for electric vehicles in the "GHG Status" submenu (see Fig. 2). The status can be described as follows:

- Sent to Federal Environment Agency: Your electric vehicle data has been submitted for GHG quota certification. Vehicles in this status can no longer be changed or deleted.
- Approved: The Federal Environment Agency has approved your application.
- Rejected: The Federal Environment Agency has rejected your application. The reason for rejection will be sent to you via email
- You will receive the flat amount after the successful certification and sale of the GHG quota, and it will be paid to your specified bank account.
