This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to integrate an additional charging group into your existing dashboard. If you do not yet have a reev dashboard, please follow the steps in the article on how to create a new dashboard.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Step 1: Check the Requirements

You have purchased a reev ready/reev pre-configured charging station or a backend-capable charging station + reev-Connect set with the appropriate license keys (reev Compact or reev Pro) through your electrical wholesaler.

License keys are required for each charging point and consist of a unique string that serves to activate the reev software. Depending on whether you choose the Compact or Pro license for your charging infrastructure, the respective functions will be unlocked in your dashboard upon entering the license keys. More information on license keys can be found here.

Additionally, make sure you have the EVSE-IDs of the charging points ready.

EVSE IDs (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Identification) serve as individual identifiers for each charging port and are required for both public charging and charging via the reev app. The EVSE ID of a charging port is always displayed on the QR code label attached near the charging port. It follows the format DEONEEXXXX (Country Code Operator-ID Power-Outlet-ID).

Step 2: Adding a new Charging Group

1. Add a new Charging Group

In your dashboard, go to the "Monitoring" section and select "Charging Infrastructure" Here, you can integrate your new charging group using the "Add New Charging Group" button. Make sure you have the purchased license keys and EVSE IDs of the charging points available.

2. Enter license keys

In the next step, you will be prompted to enter the license keys. You can flexibly distribute your license keys to the charging points.

License keys must be entered into the dashboard within two weeks of adding charging points; otherwise, the entire charging group will be set to free charging, and access control will remain inactive until all license keys are added.

3. Enter EVSE-IDs

Once you have entered your license keys, the next step is to add the EVSE IDs.

EVSE IDs are 5-digit codes in the format DEONEEXXXX and can be found on the QR code labels attached to the charging stations.

Please make sure to enter the EVSE IDs in the order that matches the physical arrangement of the charging points.

Follow these steps: Start from left to right and top to bottom.

Controller left charging point - EXXXX
Controller right charging point - EXXXX
Extender 1 left charging point  - EXXXX
Extender 1 right charging point - EXXXX
Extender 2 left charging point  - EXXXX
...

If your charging stations are single-wall boxes (with only one charging point), simply leave the corresponding fields blank.

Example:

Controller with one charging point on the left, Extender 1 with two charging points, and Extender 2 with one charging point on the left.

Enter them in the following order:

Charging point 1: Controller left charging point EXXXX

Charging point 2: Extender 1 left charging point EXXXX

Charging point 3: Extender 1 right charging point EXXXX

Charging point 4: Extender 2 left charging point EXXXX

4. Review your input:

You can review the assignment of the EVSE IDs later by selecting 'Monitoring' in the dashboard and then choosing 'Charging Infrastructure.' Click on the respective charging point, and the stored EVSE ID will be displayed at the top of the sidebar. If no ID or an incorrect ID is displayed, please contact our Support.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Where can I purchase a reev-Connect set?

Through electrical wholesalers.

2. Where can I find my license keys?

You will usually receive the license key from your electrical contractor. For more information click here.

3. Where can I purchase license keys if I don't have them yet?

Through electrical wholesalers.

4. Which license key do I need: Compact or Pro?

This depends on the specific needs of your business that the reev software will cover. Information on the functionality of our licenses can be found here. Please note that the license keys for the charging points within a dashboard must be the same since your entire dashboard is assigned to a license plan. Differentiating charging points with different licenses within a dashboard is not possible.

5. I purchased a reev Compact license key but want to use reev Pro. What can I do?

You can upgrade here.

6. Can I add license keys/EVSE IDs at a later time?

Yes, you can do this by clicking on the charging point in your dashboard's main overview and entering the appropriate license key or EVSE ID in the side menu that opens. Please note that the license keys must be added within two weeks of adding the charging points to the dashboard, otherwise the entire charging group will be set to free charging, and access control will remain inactive until all license keys are entered.
