The reev Balancer - reev´s cloud-based Energy Management System - makes it possible to distribute the available power to the charging points in accordance with demand. This function avoids consumption spikes during everyday operation and uses the available power in a cost-effective way.

No complex cabling: the reev Balancer is cloud-based, requiring minimal hardware. This saves you money and makes installation a breeze.

The features of the reev Balancer can be activated and deactivated anytime, directly via the reev Dashboard. The cloud-based solution offers a quick and easy setup, without the need for complex additional cabling.*

    • You or your electrician fill out the balancer installationprotocol with the necessary parameters.

*For dynamic loadmanagement, the pre-configured reev Balancer Gateway has to be purchased and installed at the location.


FAQ

How does a cloud-based Energy Management System ensure a save operational usage?

reev´s load management follows the specifications of OCPP 1.6J. Via Smart-Charging-Profiles, pre-set limits can be guaranteed, even without a local controller. The load management uses Fallback-Metrics to ensure operational stability during offline-times. These metrics limit the charging capacity to a predefined low limit (or 0 Ampere), until the connection is restored. Fallback-Metrics do not have time restrictions and will make sure, that the safety of your installation is upheld, even in cases of prolonged offline periods.


What is the difference between static and dynamic load management?

Static load management (SLM) refers to a fixed approach to distributing the electrical load for charging EVs, where the maximum power allocation is predetermined (i.e., static limit) and does not change in real-time.

Dynamic load management involves actively adjusting the distribution of electrical load for EV charging in real-time based on current grid conditions and demand.


How can I activate the features of the reev Balancer?

The reev Balancer is available as a paid add-on feature within the reev Software Pro. A request to add the balancer to your license can be send directly through your dashboard at any time. After ordering the add-on service and configuration has been successfully via submitting the installatationprotocol, the reev Balancer will be available in your dashboard within 1 week.


What kind of EV-charging infrastructure is most suitable for a Energy Management System?

The cloud-based solution of the reev Balancer makes the EMS suitable for every kind of EV-charging infrastructure. Without the necessity of a local controller, initial setup costs are minimal. The reev Balancer is specifically designed, to suit EV-charging infrastructure of all sizes.
