Here you can learn how to integrate the reev software into a Alfen charging station.
The integration can be done independently in a few simple steps.
Compatible models: Eve Single S-Line, Eve Single Pro-Line, Eve Double Pro-Line

What is necessary in advance so that the integration can take place
- reev operator set
The operator / CPO (CPO = Charge Point Operator) or contracted service provider must have received the operator set. Here, you will find the necessary onboarding materials, such as QR code sticker, SIM card and activation code - Laptop
You will need a laptop to connect to the controller charging infrastructure via a RJ45 data cable
INFO
It is essential that the
charging station is on the same network as the laptop.
The Laptop needs a windows operating system and access to the “ACE Service Installer”. This programme is necessary to gain access to the Alfen charging station.
- An active internet connection via Ethernet or WiFi to connect to the reev backend.
In addition the following is required:
- The keys of the charging station to open it
- An RFID card for a test charge after onboarding, as well as the licence to use the RFID card (must be purchased from Alfen)
- Licence for Controller/Extender Setup (“Smart Charging Network”; this is only necessary if you want to commission a group with several charging stations)
- The login data to access the Alfen interface during the integration
Access to the Ace installer and MyEve app
Go to https://aftersales.alfen.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/5/user/login?destination=portal/5
- Open a ticket in the portal to get access to the ACE installer (Attention: this can take up to 48 hours)
- Installation of the myEve app by Alfen, to be able to update to the latest firmware version and to be able to install the security certificates from reev.
Latest version of firmware:
- Using the app, upoad the latest firmware version from Alfen to the charging station (below FW 5.0, there is no password, with FW 5.0+, there is a user name and password. Both are supplied with the charging station)
- Security certificates (will be provided by reev)
- Enter data prescribed by reev (e.g. web URL, SIM data)
Step-by-step Integration
In the following chapters, the integration process is demonstrated step-by-step. If you have all the necessary utensils from the previous chapter at hand, you can carry out the integration in parallel.
1. Connect to the charging station with an RJ-45 cable.
Your computer must be connected to the same network as the Alfen charger. In this case, the charger will automatically appear in the ACE tool. If it does not appear, continue refreshing the page.
ATTENTION
Please save the settings after each step you take to avoid losing any changes!
- Please name the charging station in the first tab with the following name:
- Customer Ident. Number: ALFEN_(serial number)
- Example: ALFEN_100321424
- Upload the two certificates (USER TRUST.fwi and GO DADDY.fwi) under “Upload Firmware”. If this does not work, the latest software version/firmware version must be uploaded by Alfen. (The best way is via the myEVE app, alternatively via the general page, see the following screenshot)
INFO
The certificates must be built into the special firmware, which must be uploaded by the electrician into the ACE tool (The firmware has to be downloaded at the computer of the electrician). Upload the two certificates (USER TRUST.fwi and GO DADDY.fwi) under “Upload Firmware” (This can take up to 2 minutes per certificate. Afterwards you should receive the note “Successful upload of the firmware“)
2. Check the power settings
- set the available power in A (AMPERE).
3. Check the authorisation settings
- Set the online action as shown in the screenshot.
- The offline action settings are up to you.
4. Check the connectivity settings
- Adjust the General Settings as shown in the screenshot. If you want to operate the charging station via SIM card, with a switch or with a WLAN/LAN connection, please change the Connect Method.
- Set the OCPP version to 1.6.
Linking via Switch or LAN
- adapt the “Wired” settings according to the following screenshot.
- Set the reev Backend URL (Backoffice URL at the tab “Connectivity“/”Wired“ of the ACE tool). Once the link is set up, save it.
- URL: wss://ocpp.reev.com
- BackOffice path: api/ocpp/web-socket
Linking via SIM card
- adapt the “Mobile” settings according to the following screenshot.
- Set the reev Backend URL (Backoffice URL at the tab “Connectivity“/”Wired“ of the ACE tool). Once the link is set up, save it.
- URL: wss://ocpp.reev.com
- BackOffice path: api/ocpp/web-socket
APN user data
- APN name: emonvia
- APN user: emonviaCS
- APN password: not required
Further steps
- We kindly ask you to send us the ICCID number (serial number of the SIM card to be inserted in the LTE stick) in advance to check the connectivity.
- Restart the station in the ACE Service Installer after changing the configuration settings.
- After restarting, please contact reev with the name of the charging station you have set. This allows to check if it has successfully connected to the backend.
Onboarding
- In order to be able to fully use your charging infrastructure, we ask you to open the following links for onboarding:
- https://install.reev.com/cpo-onboarding -> For the electrician to obtain and create all necessary data of the charging infrastructure.
- https://reev.com/reev-connect-setup/ -> For the operator of the charging infrastructure to obtain and create all necessary operator data.
ATTENTION
Please note that approximately 2,500 defective SIM modules were installed in the NG920 model. If your model is one of the affected and no successful connection can be established after integration, a new SIM module must be ordered from Alfen.
