Welcome to reev! We are excited to shape the future of electromobility with you. Below is a guide to the basics of your reev Compact license.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Activate Access Control

The default setting of your charging infrastructure initially allows charging without access control. This means that charging is freely available at your charging group. If you want to restrict access to your charging group, you can adjust this via the "Monitoring" menu, under the "Charging Infrastructure" submenu. There, you can activate or deactivate the access control feature at any time. When access control is activated, only authorized users or charging cards registered in the reev Dashboard can start charging sessions. You can find instructions on how to add charging cards here.

Add Drivers & Vehicles

To add a user, navigate to the "Users" menu and select the "Drivers & Vehicles" submenu. Click on "+ Add." There is a distinction between users with an email address (drivers) and users without an email address (vehicles).

What is the Difference Between Driver and Vehicle?

A driver is invited to use the system via their email address. After the invitation, the driver gains access to the reev app, where they can view their charging history. The app also offers additional features such as linking charging cards, starting charging sessions, receiving notifications, and viewing live charging data. More information about the reev app can be found here.
If it is important for the user to have full transparency over their charging sessions and to use the benefits of the reev app, you should invite them as a driver to the dashboard.

For a vehicle, no email address is required. Instead, you are only asked to assign a label to the user. This helps identify the vehicle within the charging infrastructure.

It is recommended to add a vehicle for physical users like pool vehicles.

1. Assign a Charging Card

  • As the next step, you can assign a charging card to the user. You can choose between a new charging card (see the section on adding new charging cards/keyfobs) or an existing card registered in the dashboard.
  • For a driver, this step is optional, as charging sessions can also be started via the reev app, and the driver can independently add charging cards to their user account.

2. Additional Information

  • In the next, optional step, you can add a cost center and other details for the invited user. The cost center will be shown when exporting the user's charging sessions.

3. Prioritization

  • If this user should have prioritized charging, you can configure this now (only available for customers using the reev Balancer).

4. Confirmation

  • Review your entries and confirm them to assign a charging card to the driver.

Add Charging Cards/Keyfobs

In the "Users" > "Charging Cards" menu, you can add new charging cards or keyfobs (charging keychains) to your dashboard at any time. For simplicity, we refer to both as charging cards in the following.

You can choose between a reev charging card and your own RFID cards.

  • For a reev charging card, please enter the five-digit code printed in the top-right corner of the card.
  • If you are using your own RFID cards, click on "other" and enter the UID (serial number) of the card.

More information about which RFID cards can be used with ABL charging stations can be found here Instructions on how to add your own RFID cards to the dashboard can be found here.
